I must admit I am not a fan of winter, I have a very strong aversion to being cold. Cold weather makes me cranky. I was born in North Dakota on January 2nd, ( the year is irrelevant to my comments) the 5th child of six. I have often had the thought that my distaste for cold weather stems from some traumatic memory that I have buried deep in my subconscious; did my mom’s busy schedule with the other children keep her from changing my cold, wet, diapers in a timely manner…just sayin. Ok, I digress.
Knowing that nothing is wasted or an accident with God there must be good reasons for this challenging season of cold temperatures, gray skies, and dead plants. I could go on and on about the roots going deep during the winter season, and that nothing can be resurrected unless it tastes death, (those are pretty good points) but the truth is, winter just happens. Trying to define the reasons and even benefits involved in various seasons can be an exercise in futility. Searching for the ‘why’ can be frustrating. How much better to just rest in the fact that God has appointed seasons for the earth and for His people. You are God…I trust You!
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You! (Psalms 84:12)
Dearest Susan – your blogs are so you! No pretense! You have so much to say that will bring gloryvti our King! I love you sincerely, and I am praying for you today.
